With his newfound popularity, KakerMix assembled a team to create the Technic Launcher and further modpacks. It only had a few downloads until it was reviewed by a member of The Yogscast where it was brought to the forefront of their fans. Technic originated as a small modpack named Technic released in Beta 1.7 by KakerMix on Something Awful. However, the Technic modpacks and launcher still have a cult following within its own community, and Technic still has a large legacy, paving the way for future modpacks and modpack distribution platforms.

As such, Technic is no longer a large part of the modded community. Īlthough Technic was once hegemonic in the modded community, the Technic Team has not released one of their own modpacks in years, nor have they modified their launcher beyond basic maintenance.

The Technic Launcher was created to automatically install of the Technic modpacks, including over 10,000 third-party modpacks. It only had a few downloads until it was reviewed by a member of The Yogscast, where it was placed into the spotlight of their many fans. Technic was originally created as a small, personal modpack by KakerMix on a website named Something Awful. Technic is a launcher, community and large group of modpacks created by the Technic Team. For the original modpack, see Technic SSP. Same with the server. This page is about the launcher and group of modpacks.

Games are meant to be played, and while it can take the fun out of a game to just look it up instead of figuring it out for yourself, it can be just as bad to not be able to play the game to its fullest because of a frustrating puzzle or item combo you just can't seem to figure out.Īnyway, I highly recommend this pack, and luckily for those of us that can't mod Minecraft to save our lives, especially server-side mods, there is a launcher available that downloads its own copy of Minecraft, using your account, no pirating here, then the mods, then it mods the game for you. No shame in looking it up if you are really stuck.

And if you get really stuck, just use the wiki page to figure it out. The pack adds a few new mechanics to the game as well, luckily there are books in-game to teach you the ropes. There are different Meteor types, but I wont explain them since I think experience is the best teacher. Meteors are more destructive, but the Meteor chips can be turned into tools and such. When you pick up a fallen star, you get a star piece and an experience boost, if you wait too long, it turns into stardust. The stars are the more fun ones in my opinion, mainly because they don't obliterate their surroundings when they land. One of the most fun things I have found about it, is that it adds falling stars and Meteors. The pack adds so much stuff and runs so well, that I can, at least for the moment, not think of playing Minecraft without it. The Hexxit Modpack adds a ton of new features, including, but not limited to, new mobs, items, events, foliage, and structures. I will be reviewing the Hexxit Modpack for Minecraft today instead of a standalone game, although the pack almost makes Minecraft an entirely different game. First, I would like to apologize for not posting, I still haven't played enough games to review them.
